This group is for sharing information and discussing issues - and potential solutions - that affect delivery of energy-efficiency products, services and practices by small utilities and those that serve rural areas. In its 6th Power Plan, the Northwest Power and Conservation Council recognized that small and/or rural utilities face unique circumstances and special barriers to achieving energy efficiency and to developing and implementing conservation programs. Those and other challenges may apply as well to small municipal utilities, utilities located far from metropolitan areas in the Northwest, and investor-owned utilities with remote areas in their service territories. We encourage participation in this group by representatives of utilities of all sizes and by other energy-efficiency organizations, interest groups, and professionals in the region.
