Overview
Project Objectives: We monitored two smart, thermostatic controllers for engine block heaters in six buses. Smart controllers being tested were programmed with custom and default strategies. Energy use by engine block heaters with smart controls were compared to one in a bus without smart controls. The objectives of this analysis were to verify that the controllers operated as expected and assess for energy conservation potential.
