The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance received American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding to study data collection practices at local building jurisdictions around the Northwest. Anecdotal evidence has suggested that energy code-related data is not uniformly collected, may not be collected at all in some jurisdictions and is often disposed of by the jurisdiction soon after a project is completed, but there has been little data available to validate these beliefs. The intent of this study was to collect data regarding actual practices from jurisdictions in the four Northwest states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
