The Data Analyst is an integral part of the Data, Planning and Analysis (DPA) team at NEEA. The Data Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert for a variety of program teams, connecting them to key resources, sharing best practices and supporting continuous improvement of data processes. The Data Analyst will work with cross functional teams to identify needs, scope and lead data related projects. The Data Analyst will work with contractors and internal teams to drive the collection and procurement of high quality, reliable data. The Data Analyst will help teams leverage and explore data assets through the development of tools, visualizations, and analytical data products that drive market insights and support business decisions.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000

As a federal contractor, NEEA requires all employees to complete their COVID-19 vaccination series or have an approved exception to the requirement due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief. Successful candidates for this position must submit vaccination documentation or be approved for an exception prior to their first day of employment. Failure to provide proof of full documentation or receipt of an approved exception will lead to withdrawal of the job offer.

The Typical Day May Include…

  • Leading conversations with cross-functional teams to identify data gaps, analysis, and reporting needs.
  • Advising teams on technical projects and connecting them to internal resources.
  • Executing SQL or Python based data processes to combine raw data from multiple sources into clean, structured data sets housed in relational databases.
  • Implementing data validation and QA/QC processes to ensure integrity of datasets.
  • Conducting analysis or developing self-serve analytical tools.
  • Researching and vetting new data sources to support program needs.
  • Reviewing proposed data collection protocols, processes for a market study.
  • Managing and providing oversight over contractor data collection projects.

You Likely Have The Following:

  • Proven record of success manipulating data and conducting analysis using SQL, Python and advancing analytical tools.
  • Strong work ethic and drive to get projects finished. 
  • Ability to multi-task and be proactive in a complex environment.
  • Desire to learn and apply new technical systems and concepts.

Your Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • ​Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance or related field.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a data focused or analytical role working with cross functional teams.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with SQL and Python or R.  
  • Intermediate knowledge of analytic and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience managing relational databases, working in Alteryx a plus.
  • Experience in energy efficiency, or resource conservation a plus. 
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties will also be considered. 

While NEEA’s office is located in Portland, Oregon consideration will be taken for applicants who may not be in the Portland metro area to work remotely.  NEEA will facilitate ongoing off-site work arrangements for employees when such arrangements allow all business commitments to be met at the same level as if the employee were working in the office environment.  We are happy to discuss our telecommute policies throughout the hiring process.
