Opening Keynote: Val Jensen

Senior Vice President, Customer Operations – Commonwealth Edison

As senior vice president for Strategy, Mr. Jensen is responsible for developing ComEd’s long-term platform business model strategy. Val also has responsibility for ComEd’s $350 million (annual) energy efficiency program portfolio. Prior to being named to this position in December 2017, he served as senior vice president for Customer Operations where he managed development and delivery of the Company’s customer-facing products and services, including the customer contact center, eChannels, metering, billing and ComEd’s portfolio of demand response and energy efficiency programs. He was also responsible for leading development of the Exelon Utilities business intelligence/data analytics strategy.

Prior to joining ComEd in 2008, Val served as senior vice president, managing ICF International’s San Francisco office. Previously, he worked for the U.S. Department of Energy, where he served on the staff of the Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and directed the Chicago regional office.

Val serves on the boards of the Alliance to Save Energy, Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind and the Energy Foundry, and previously served on the U.S. DOE’s Electricity Advisory Committee. He was a founding board member of the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. He holds a BA from Hamline University and a MPA from the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
